Combat-Proven Tracking for Tactical Teams
When your tactical team deploys to locate a suspect, a fugitive, or a hostile actor, the ability to read and follow human sign is not an enhancement — it is a force multiplier that changes the geometry of every operation. The Tactical Mantracking Level I course delivers that capability in a focused program built for SWAT operators and military personnel who work in small teams under operational pressure.
This course is designed from the ground up for tactical contexts. The scenarios, pace, and decision framework reflect the reality that your operators will track under time constraints, in uncertain threat environments, and with mission objectives that go beyond simply following a trail. Every skill taught here has been validated in real-world tactical operations across five continents.
Why the Instructor Matters
Fernando Moreira carries a three-generation lineage of tracking knowledge — skills passed from his grandfather through his father to him, refined across decades of teaching military special operations, federal law enforcement tactical units, and international defense forces. He is the author of Visual Mantracking for Law Enforcement and SAR and Shadow Disciple. He has trained operators from multiple branches of the U.S. military and allied forces worldwide. He is not a classroom instructor who once tracked — he is a master tracker who teaches. Fernando brings 40+ years of active operational tracking experience to every course, and his instruction reflects current field doctrine rather than legacy curriculum.
NTOA Compliance
The 2023 NTOA Tactical Response and Operations Standard identifies tactical tracking in urban environments as a Tier 1 skill for SWAT (Figure C-11). If your team does not have organic tracking capability, this course closes that gap. The certification documentation supports NTOA compliance reporting and strengthens your position in after-action reviews.
What Your Tactical Unit Gains
