Advanced Operational Tracking for Experienced Trackers
Tactical Mantracking Level II is an advanced operational training program designed for law enforcement professionals who are ready to apply tracking skills in real-world mission environments. This course moves beyond foundational tracking and focuses on field application, tactical decision-making, and team-based operations under realistic and high-pressure conditions.
Students are challenged in scenario-driven environments that replicate actual law enforcement tracking missions — suspect pursuit, search operations, and fugitive recovery. The focus is not only on following sign, but on understanding what the environment is revealing about the subject's movement, intent, and behavior.
Prerequisite — Level I Required, No Substitutions
Enrollment in Tactical Mantracking Level II requires prior completion of Tactical Mantracking Level I. This is a strict requirement. No prior training from other schools or institutions is accepted as a substitute for Fernando's Level I curriculum. Officers must complete Tactical Mantracking Level I with Worldwide Trackers before enrolling in Level II. Fernando's curriculum is delivered in sequence — each level builds directly on the terminology, techniques, and operational framework introduced in the prior level.
What You Will Learn
Participants develop advanced capabilities in:
- Tactical spoor identification and interpretation under operational pressure
- Sign aging and movement analysis across varied terrain
- Sign cutting and route recovery operations in dynamic environments
- Counter-tracking awareness and detection
- Urban, rural, and low-sign environment tracking
- Team-based tactical tracking formations
- Integration of tracking with containment and surveillance operations
- Operational decision-making under pressure
- Officer safety and risk management in active tracking environments
Night Operations
Night tracking is a critical component of Level II. Agencies with access to night vision equipment are strongly encouraged to bring their gear. Students train in reduced-light conditions to understand both the advantages and limitations of night vision during active tracking operations — and to develop the unaided-eye skills that remain essential when technology fails.
Why the Instructor Matters
Fernando Moreira brings 40+ years of active operational tracking experience to every course, and his instruction reflects current field doctrine rather than legacy curriculum. He is the author of Visual Mantracking for Law Enforcement and SAR and Shadow Disciple, and has trained military special operations, federal law enforcement tactical units, and international defense forces. Level II content is delivered by the same operator who designed it — not a second-hand instructor working from a borrowed syllabus.
