About Fernando Moreira

Fernando Moreira has tracked since boyhood, trained by his father and grandfather — both professional trackers. This three-generation lineage forms the foundation of everything Worldwide Trackers teaches.

Military Service

Fernando served as a tracker in the Portuguese military during the colonial wars in Africa, beginning in 1974. Over nearly six years of service, he conducted covert and overt track prosecutions lasting up to 14 days against insurgent forces.

Law Enforcement

After emigrating to the United States, Fernando brought his tracking expertise to law enforcement and search & rescue. He currently assists the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in Northern Nevada as a tracker for back-country tactical operations, felon apprehension, counter-drug operations, and crime scene investigation.

He has successfully prosecuted thousands of tracks and investigations including murders of law enforcement personnel and child abductions.

Fernando is a qualified expert witness in the area of man-tracking for both the California and Nevada court systems.
